VOTING DELEGATE GUIDE

SELECTING VOTING DELEGATES

Voting Delegates are responsible for representing your chapter’s voice in the State President Selection process for Washington DECA.  Voting delegates must be able to fulfill this role in a professional manner by understanding the responsibilities and reading this document in detail.  To determine how many voting delegates is allocated for your chapter or to see which Election Session your school is assigned to, please refer to the list below.

MAKE SURE YOUR VOTE COUNTS!

To cast your vote, Voting Delegates have two options:

#1 Attend your chapter’s assigned Election Session: At the Election Session, delegates will receive a Voter Registration Card to cast an E-Vote.  Voting delegates attend only one (1) election session.  Sessions are assigned by school & area according to the list on the back of this guide.

ELECTION SCHEDULE FOR VOTING DELEGATES

THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2020

4:00 – 8:00 p.m. | Campaign Posters (Meydenbauer Lobby)

Campaign posters will be on display for your review.

6:00 – 7:15 p.m. | Opening Session (Meydenbauer Center Hall)

[Attire: Business Professional]

All candidates will deliver their campaign speeches.

After Opening Session, information about candidates will be posted online!

***Chapter Meeting with Advisor and/or Chapter time***

After Opening Session, take time to learn what your members think about the candidates so far.  Remember, you represent their voice!

FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2020

Election Sessions

Participate in a Q&A session with the candidates and pick up your Voter Registration Card.  

3:15 – 4:00 p.m. | Election Session #1 (Hyatt Theatre)

FOR AREAS 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 

4:00 – 4:45 p.m. | Election Session #2 (Hyatt Theatre)

FOR AREAS 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11                                    

5:00 – 9:00 p.m. | E-Voting http://leadable.info/elections

Follow the instructions on your Voter Registration Card to cast your vote!  If you were not able to pick up a Voter Registration Card, the information was also emailed to your advisor.  

The New State President will be announced at the Awards Session on Saturday morning!
