As a chapter advisor, you have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of your students. By engaging your students in the DECA Experience, your students will be better prepared for college and career. The knowledge and skills students acquire through DECA continues to pay off throughout their post-high school years and well into their professional careers. DECA provides for hands-on, "real-world," applied learning that makes both teaching and learning especially fun and rewarding.

When you serve as a DECA advisor, you will work with your school's administration and ASB to establish DECA as an approved club. You will select and develop a student leadership team and organize your chapter, to include developing a Chapter Constitution and Program of Work. Throughout the school year, you will facilitate participation of your chapter in various DECA activities, from chapter projects to state conferences. You will serve as your chapter's DECA competition coach, providing your students with the materials and guidance they need to participate in DECA competition.
