Greetings compañeros. I am Jansen VanderMeulen, and I will serve this year as your Washington DECA State President. In the coming year, I will be a senior at Burlington-Edison High School, where I also participate in National Honor Society, Natural Helpers, Peer Mentoring, and tennis. My name is Jackson Alesna and I am a junior at Monroe High School. I am honored and excited to serve as this year’s Area 1 president. I am really looking forward to meeting and working with you throughout the year. Outside of DECA my passion is creating music, and spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to answering any and all of your questions if need be.

Hello Area 2! My name is McKenzie Strickland, I will be a senior at Kamiak High School and I am ecstatic to be your returning Area 2 President! Now that Area 2 has doubled in size I am excited to start the year with more members and new challenges! Hello Washington DECA members! My name is Midori Ng and I am honored to be serving as your Area 3 President. As a senior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, this will be my third year in DECA. I have competed at the Area, State and International Conferences the past two years in Advertising Campaign. Aside from DECA, I am also involved in ASB as the Senior Class Vice President, play volleyball for Eastlake High School, volunteer at the Children’s Hospital and serve as a Relay for Life team captain. Daniel Gorrie

My name is Daniel Gorrie, and I am a senior at Interlake High School. This year, the Area 4 team and I will be focusing on membership expansion, the creation of a liaison service to increase communication between chapters, and on running a successful Area Conference. Apart from DECA, I run cross country and track, and teach sailing during the summers.

My name is Kylie Heerlyn and I am a junior at North Thurston High School. As a third year DECA member, I look forward to my second year as your Area 8 President. This past year, I have had the chance to connect with many outstanding DECA members. I am excited to continue to grow with the help of all of you and our organization. Hello, my name is Peter Collier. I will be serving as the Washington DECA Area 10 President for the 2011-2012 school year. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this year. If you ever were to find me not doing DECA things, you could find me biking everywhere I go, running cross country, painting in my driveway, or playing my guitar.
