What are competitions
As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge.

How do I enter one?
DECA offers a variety of competitive events. Students should meet with their DECA Advisors to help select a competitive event. Depending on the event, students may compete at the area level to qualify for the state competition or submit a project directly to Washington DECA or National DECA to qualify for state and international competitions.
