Washington DECA Community Service Project
Fundraising Goal: $25,000
Check out our success over the 2010 – 2011 school year!

The Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) provided a home-away-from-home for families annually. The Seattle house is the second largest House in the world. There are 259 Ronald McDonald Houses in 28 countries, each physically unique and independently run, but sharing the goal of making families feel at home during a stressful time. The length of time families stay varies greatly; some call the House home for over a year.
RMHC depends upon charitable donations and volunteer support from many individuals, corporations and foundations for their continued existence. RMHC receives no government funding, but relies on the generosity of the private sector. Last year Washington DECA members raised over $33,000 including in-kind donations and volunteer hours.
How can your DECA chapter help support families staying at the Ronald McDonald House?
By partnering with RMHC you will experience the impact of your contributions first-hand. You will have a variety of opportunities to make meals for families, host family arts and crafts activities, set up movie nights and many more activities to help make life more comfortable for the families during a difficult time.
Washington DECA is fortunate to work with the the RMHC of Portland, Seattle and Spokane. Please check out the flyers below on how you can support the local RMHC in your area. We’ve also provided family shopping lists and wish lists. Make an impact in your community! Your donations are greatly appreciated!
