international career development conference

More than 740 students and advisors attended the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida. Most participants at ICDC compete in one of the DECA’s performance-based competitive events. The top competitors in each event are recognized for their outstanding achievements and many are awarded continuing education scholarships, stock and cash awards. In addition to the competitive events, many students and advisors participate in workshops, seminars and training academies.

Washington DECA members shined as one of the top associations with several honors and awards.
This year we had seven 1st place winners, six 2nd place winners and one 3rd place winners.

ICDC Academies 
Washington DECA has a limited number of allocated slots for students to participate in the Chapter Management Academy (CMA), Leadership Development Academy (LDA), and Senior Management Institute (SMI) at ICDC.  Each chapter may submit one student application for each of the academies.  Applications must be received by Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. via fax, email, or mail.  On Friday, March 16, Chapter Advisors will be notified via email if their student(s) were selected to participate.  As a reminder, do not make airline reservations for these students until they are officially selected on Friday, March 16.
