Washington DECA invites you to join us this spring in support of high school marketing and education leadership. Come hear how Washington DECA is changing the lives of passionate young people in our community. Proceeds from this event will benefit our 10,400 student members statewide, and enable us to continue to further our mission of developing the leadership skills of marketing students throughout Washington.

On Friday, May 20, 2011, more than 160 DECA supporters came out to our annual Champions’ Celebration Luncheon at the Seattle Sheraton. Dennis Ballen, Head Bagel of Blazing Bagels, served as our keynote speaker. Dennis and Blazing Bagels are wonderful supporters of Washington DECA through public speaking appearances in local DECA classrooms, hiring DECA Alumni, supplying student stores with bagels, and donating dozens of bagels to Washington DECA. We were fortunate to have Janene Drafs, Vice President and General Sales Manager of KOMO TV, and DECA judge, serve as our Master of Ceremonies. Dennis Rockwood, Inglemoor High School DECA Advisor and Washington DECA Advisor of the Year shared his passion for teaching and the success of his students as state and international champions. Our student presenters impressed the guests with stories of their DECA experience and the impact it has made on them and their future.
