What is 'Momentum' Rewards?

Momentum Member Spotlight Rewards is a system developed by your State Officer team to recognize members and chapters at the area and state level.

The WA DECA Member of the Year award will be announced at the 2009 WA-DECA State CDC in March.

Below are a few basic questions and answers you may have about the Rewards program.

Why should my chapter participate?

This is a great way to recognize members and chapters for their outstanding work. For 2008-09, CAP projects will require participation in the Rewards program. Please see the official CAP rules for more details.

When is the deadline for nominating?

All nominations must be in by Friday, January 30, 2009.

How can my chapter or I win?

Each year, your advisor or a chapter officer must fill out the nomination form. Every chapter can nominate one person. Winners are selected based on how they exemplified the following criteria for the year: leadership development, civic consciousness, social intelligence, vocational understanding and overall DECA involvement.

What should my chapter do right now?

In the future, be sure to submit your nomination by January 30, 2009.
Educate your chapter about Momentum Rewards at your next meeting!
Select a representative from your chapter who will submit the forms.
